Horseback Riding Lessons
One of the many Groupons that Nana bought was for three riding lessons for three grandchildren. And Devin, Hailey and Kayla were chosen for the lessons. In the barn while waiting for their lesson to start, there were something like 18 kittens.
| Please, Please, Please can we have a free Kitten??????? |
And Hailey has her favorites also.
They are suppose to be getting ready for the riding lesson.
Devin is a big help getting the saddles out and on.
I think this might be Star.
Oh dear, I'm going to ask what the horses names are....I've forgotten.
Keep your back straight, left hand on thigh.
They started out in the small ring, working on their posture and how to hold the reigns.
| I believe the sun is in Kayla's eyes. |
Once the teacher saw they were doing well, they moved to a larger pasture.
And here they are beginning to learn to trot. Legs straight, leaning back slightly, right hand on saddle back.

I love those yellow flowers ... what are they .... buttercups?
Pops stayed home to grill hamburgers. They were hungry when we got home.
These kids are having so much fun together!
After eating, they played in the yard for a while.
On the way home, we stopped at Braums for a cone. One more lesson to go!

Life of a HomeSchooler
Rosie, Lily, Elijah, Devin and Hailey are all homeschoolers. On this particular, they were gathered at our house at lunch time. It was a beautiful day so we had lunch together out on the deck. Elijah was at his co-op Latin class and had to wait and eat later.
After lunch, Devin and Hailey had Deuteronomy and Shakespear to read. They take turns reading while the other listens.
Come on, pretend this is a lot of fun.
Take note of Devin's new haircut and Hailey's new braids.
While in the house, Lily is working on writing her paper about Russian Eggs.
And Rosie is doing her Math and writing a poem.
April calls Papa her 'substitue teacher.' Interesting job for the Papa.

Papa's Got Some New Kids
Papa adopted some new kids ..... well maybe I am using the wrong word, not adopted but sponsored.
This is little 8 year old Geralda Alcindor. She goes to Bethel School in Haiti.
Papa sends money to sponsor Geralda through Love A Child. The money along with others gifts help to provide a Christian education for these children. It also helps with medical care. It helps with school uniforms
Geralda has 3 brothers and 2 sisters and is in first grade. Isn't she cute. She says when she grows up she wants to be a seamstress.
And here is little Alex Dor who is 13 years old. Alex is in 3rd grade at the Fond Parisien school. He has three sisters. These children lived through the terrible earthquakes in Haiti.
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and is always in trouble because there are not enough jobs and not enough food. Many Hatian children have no parents and live in a hungry world. Half of all children born in Haiti do not live past the age of five years old.
With Papa's help and our prayer, Geralda and Alex will have a better life.....food for their tummies and a good education.

The Traits we get from our Parents
Another interesting trait is the bent little pinkie finger. Look and see if your pinkie finger bends toward your ring finger.
Here is a trait on Papa and Blakely. Can you see it? It is the Ear lobe: is it attached or detached? Papa's ear lobe is detached and hangs down and Blakely's is attached. See the difference?
Another interesting trait is the tongue. Some can roll or curl your tongue and some of you can not -- no matter how hard you try. Sydney can curl her tongue into a tube shape. But Blakely can not, Blakely is a tongue twister -- she can twist her tongue but not roll it. Check your's out and see if you are a tongue roller or a tongue twister.
