Things To Do When On Vacation

We were staying in a Model  Townhouse  while we were on vacation at Sunset Beach. (Uncle Dan was working there, selling the homes.)  So we took some things to do when we could not go to the ocean to swim.  Here is some art work that Ava and Carson did.
Ava's is flowers and butterflies.
And Carson's was about race cars.
This was our first day on the beach.  We all got a little bit too much sun that first day.
The waves were pretty gentle and the slope was great for kids.  So we did not have to worry.

Uncle Dan had boogie boards for the children.  They had to hang on to them because the wind would try to blow them away.
At quiet times, they played with the laptop.  We could not get on line so Ava writes a story.  Ava's story is posted  just a couple blogs past this one.
We went out to eat.  The first night we ate up on the balcony at Twin Lakes in Sunset Beach.
The Resort had a workout room so we went there a few times to get exercise.
Ava doing sit ups.
We found a lot of little creatures.  This moth was beautiful.
We had a little buddy on the swimming pool fence.  He came out every day to change colors for us.
The swimming pool was just below our balcony.  There were dragon flys at the pool.

We built castles in he sand.
We gathered seashells at Ocean Isle beach.

We took a ferry to bald Head Island.
This is the beautiful land of Old Baldy Lighthouse.  We climbed about 285 steps to the top of the lighthouse.  Nana did not make it to the top. Everyone else did!
We visited a Turtle Conservatory and saw lots of creatures there.
During quiet time, there was some story telling taking place.  Shhhhhhh, it's quiet time.
Our Resort was inner coastal so there was an ocean canal out our back deck.   We walked over the marsh lands to the wharf and had lunch out there one day.
Were were lots of seagulls and pelicans to view.
Carson and Ava road their scooters out across the marsh to the boat dock.

We watched hundreds of boats go up and down the canal.  It was a ton of fun.

Carson Helps Papa Screw On The Bench Legs

Aunt Sommer was using her bench for Photography backgrounds so had asked Papa if he could make her another bench for the front yard.   He had Elijah come overand help him get started on the bench.  He had not made one in so longthat it took tme to figure it out again.   I was not home whe Elijah helped so there are no photos of that part.    But once the bench was in North Carolina, Carson got to help with finishing up the bench.  Her Papa predrills the place for the screw an Carson screws on the legs.

And here is Aunt Sommer using the first bench for her food blog.
Here, Papa is showing Ava and Carson his CamWow on the IPhone.  It makes your face look very weird.

Ava's Latest MooMoo The Cow Story

Now one day Moomoo the cow decided to go to the outside bathroom
“Hey!” Cried Moomoo.  He saw a cloth. “I am going to make clothes out of the cloth and I am going to take a t-shirt and a hula skirt.” MooMoo is going to Hawaii. Now he made the t-shirt. First he cut 2 t-shirt shapes with the cloth. Then Moomoo tied grass together and found a sharp piece of mulch. Moomoo used the mulch as a needle. He sewed his t-shirt together. His skirt was easy all he did was cut a circle and sewed it together. He made a fringe for good looks. Then he found a ticket to Hawaii on the ground. So he dressed like a fat person and he got on a plane. That night for dinner he ate chicken at Chick-fil-a. Then he saw cows on the sign and that freaked him out. It said eat more chicken so he felt better.
The next day, he was in Hawaii. Moomoo bought a surfboard and surfed on it til he was growing brown spots from the sun.
Then he bought a slushy to drink.
Then Moomoo decided to go to the barn.  So, he found a car in the parking lot and the keys were on top of the car. Luckily, the car was a burglar's. Moomoo drove the car to the barn.
Finally, Moomoo was safe at home and Miss Pickeral was at home with him too.
