Sydney's Story-Art

Once there was this dog who had a Popsicle on his back. And there were three lady bugs who came along and helped to eat the Popsicle all up -- it was orange. They all were smiling which made the sun smile also. And then there was this little dog which looked like a pig ... it was a pigdoggie and he had a friend the turtle. The turtle dug in the mud and they were all very happy.

What is happening in Dallas Texas

Nana and Papa went to Dallas to see if Baby Blakely was going to be born. We had a lot of fun. But Blakely was not ready to meet us. This is Sydney kissing the baby before she is born. In the back yard there were orange blossoms blooming. They smelled like Heaven!.
And then, The new baby is getting some of the furniture that Sydney had used when she was a baby, so she has a new big red headboard on her bed. Isn't it pretty.
Sydney has a new baby kitten. Her name is periwinkle. She also has a new trampoline to jump on. This is Sydney jumping with her friend Caroline. Can you make your hair look like Caroline's?

I found Ava and Carson on Facebook

Ava and Carson had a special Easter Egg hunt at their church on Sunday evening. I found this picture on facebook so I will post it until Mommie Hummers sends us new ones. I think Carson is posing very funny for us. Their church met in a hotel and their egg hunt was in the hotel gardens.

Papa found a Bumble Bee

It is our first bumble bee of the spring and it is pollinating our young dogwoods. He looks like a teenager to me.

Pray for our Flower Child

Rosie was at our house on Monday night and she was dressed as our little flower child. You see her wearing her little eye patch on her left eye. Rosie went to the doctor today to have her eyes checked again. The doctor was not happy with the progress and the patch did not help. (I am sure Rosie is glad she does not have to wear it any more.) But Rosie needs healing for her eyes. Her vision is not good especially the left eye. We need a miracle! Pray for our little flower child .... our little Rosie Flower.

Name My Puppy

Over the years all the grandkids have played with my puppy. I think Sydney and Ava and maybe Rosie have given him names but I don't remember what his name is. Please name my puppy. He may be going to Europe with Pops and Me.

Archie the Armadillo

One day Archie the armadillo was sleeping in his burrow, when his friend, Pokey the porcupine came in and said, "hey Archie, the grubs are back!" Archie shot up immediately, and said,
"wha-id-you-say?!?!" "Its the great grub migration over on the other side of the forest!" Oh no, he said, I gotta get ready! Once he was ready, he climbed out of his hole and started on his biggest adventure yet. He started walking away, then he looked back and said, "goodbye" to his little hole, then he turned back around and started walking again.

They walked for about two-and-a-half hours when they got to the deep dark scary part of the forest. "I don't like it here.....not one bit," said Pokey. "Nether do I," said Archie. Just then they heard growling in the bushes, they screamed and ran until they tripped over a big rock, "ouch," they said. Then they looked up and right in front of them they saw a swamp. It was a big scary swamp with old dead trees in it. "How are we going to get across?," said Pokey. I can swim, and you can crawl across that old log.," said Archie.
Then Archie puffed up with air and jumped into the water and floated across. "Your turn," he said. Pokey climbed on and went from tree to tree, just then the tree broke in half! He jumped just in time and made it! Then they started walking again.

They were both tired and hungry, but then they saw a light so they ran to it. When they got to the light they were in the middle of a road! They looked up and saw a truck coming right for them! Pokey ran to the other side of the road, but Archie just sat starring at the truck! Run!, Pokey said run!, The truck went over Archie,"oh no," said Pokey, but he had ducked just in time. Once the truck was gone Archie ran to the other side.

In the morning they reached the place where the grubs were supposed to be. They looked around and then they found them, thousands of grubs everywhere!
Then they ate and ate until they could not eat any more then they went to sleep.

The Hungry Armadillo

Deep in the rainforest of Brazil lived three neighbors.
A parakeet named Pete, an anteater named Emily, and an armadillo named Arthur. Of course there were many other animals but these three were close friends.
Pete was a shy bird that only spoke when spoken to. He always sang beautifully. Emily was a Pygmy anteater with a voice much greater than her size. Arthur was very friendly with a high squeaky voice. They loved to get together at dusk and sing for a long long time.
One morning Arthur woke up and noticed that his stomach was growling loudly. He crawled out of his burrow and began to search for termites. They were his favorite breakfast. While he was searching he ran into Emily. She had been looking for him to tell him of a tremendous termite mound by the brook.
She and Pete had been there for half an hour and wondered if he would like to join them. He was so hungry that he couldn't answer. With a blink of an eye he dashed to the brook and spied the tremendous termite mound. Pete was perched on a log by the mound. Arthur's long tongue shot down the dark hole in the mound and returned with hundreds of twisting termites stuck to it which he quickly swallowed. After several more mouthfuls he was satisfied.
Pete flew off to visit his tree frog friend, Francis. Francis was extremely shy. She barely ever came out of her bromeliad. Her only friend was Pete because she loved his singing and couldn't resist meeting him. They had been friends ever since.
In the mean time, Arthur and Emily had been resting by the brook. Arthur decided he had room for a few more mouthfuls. He stuck his long tongue in the mound. But when he tried to pull it out, it wouldn't budge.

With his tongue still stuck in the hole he cried out for help in his high squeaky voice. Emily carefully moved her tongue around in the hole to see what the trouble was. "It's tied in a knot!", she declared. "How are we going to get it out?" "Go get Pete.", said Arthur. "He'll know what to do."
Emily dashed over to the bromeliad and found Pete sitting with Francis. Francis hopped back into her hiding place. Emily explained the trouble. Pete was smart and quickly came up with a solution. "We need to get that tongue untied!" he proclaimed. " But we are too big to fit down that hole.", said Emily. "I'm not, I can help.", croaked Francis, from the flower. She hopped on Pete's back and he took her to the mound. She bravely hopped down the hole and carefully untied the knotted tongue. Arthur was so thankful he invited Francis to be apart of their evening chorus. She agreed, and the four became close friends.
And now, deep in the rainforest of Brazil, if you listen carefully, you can hear the quartet singing their beautiful friendship chorus.

At Garfield's Restaurant in Branson Landing, while we waited for the food to arrive, Lily made table decorations and then Rosie added a drawing.
