We have a winner

The deadline for Papa's Riddle was yesterday, so time to announce the winner.  Devin guessed Bookshelf and that was wrong.   Then Hailey guessed a roof and that was kind of correct.  Then Lily and Elijah both guessed it was looking up at the upper deck and that was correct.  Rosie's Mom said rosie guessed the same but she did not submit her guess.   Hummmmm...............
Papa was under our back patio looking up at the deck and the light was shining through the cracks.
Papa said maybe we need to divide the $10 prize among all the winners .... I think he was teasing.   I'll let you know.
The winners are all going to the Disney on Ice next Thursday evening.  Would it be OK to pass out the prize money about that time?   Let me know and I'll pass the word on to Papa.

Kayla's Grandparent Day

Nana's job was cancelled so both of us got to go to Kayla's Grandparent day at Carnegie .   Susie order us lunches and professional photos.  Thanks Mommie Susie.  It was deliciouis.   But the most fun was being with Kayla.  She introduced us to a couple of her teachers and a couple friends.  Kayla showed us her locker and some of her art.  Kayla is very talented.  After lunch it was time for Math and Science.   She claims she does not like Math but we all know better.  Almost everykid says that at some time in their life.     Kayla is a big 5th grader.   We are proud of you Kayla.  We love you very much.

Kayla's school is having Grandparent Day and Pops is planning on going. Nana has to work but might make it there a little later.   More information and pictures will be coming.

Papa Is Going To Haiti

Papa is on a trip this week.  He left at 6:00 Saturday Morning, is in Florida until Monday morning early when he will fly out to Haiti.
Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world.  It's government leaders are very mean and nasty to the people.   Even though the Caribbean is very beautiful, the people have a hard life.
Papa is helping some Missionaries who have built an orphanage for little children who have no Mommie or Daddy and these missionaries have adopted many children and built a home for them to live together as a family.  Family is very important.  To help these children, the adoptive Mom and Dad need lots of money.  Papa is going to visit Haiti to help the parents learn how to raise the money they need.   When he gets back, I will ask him to share his experience with you.   Pray for Papa this week and for the people of Haiti.
The Haitian people speak either French or Creole.  Hello is 'bonswa" and Good bye is "babay."
http://www.loveachild.com/bobandcarolestufflebeam    Papa just called on his BlackBerry, he said they have 14 schools in Haiti and feed 5,000 children a good lunch everyday because that is the only food those children have -- one meal a  day.  Pray for the children of Haiti.

Brown Kitty Takes a Trip With Uncle Joel (Sydney's Daddy)

Uncle Joel sent these pictures because Brown Kitty is on a trip.  Sydney sent Brown Kitty along with Daddy to Chicago to help him preach.  All buckled up on the airplane and then Brown Kitty picked out a gift to take back to Sydney.    Have fun Brown Kitty!  Preach Good!
Well, more pictures are coming. Brown Kitty has been to downtown Chicago, to a Cubs game and eaten a Chicago Hot Dog. Hey, Brown Kitty, I thought you were going to help Sydney's Daddy preach the gospel

Devin and Hailey Hike in Red Bud Valley

Uncle Kevin sent some photos of a hiking trip to Red Bud Valley. Here are some of the things that Devin and Hailey saw.

Do you know what kind of turtles these are? Can you identify the animal tracks?
Or can you tell us about the butterflies?
You look like you are having so much fun. Thanks for sharing the photos and I'm glad you shared your good time with us. Send us a story to go along with the pictures.
