Fall Festival VS HallowZOOween

For Years we have not celebrated Halloween.  Churches offer alternatives but seems this year things are a bit more "halloweenish."    So Roberta the Mad Hatter, visited Lily the Little Red Riding Hood at the COTM fall outing.    After church there were games and food, hay rides and hay mazes.  The Nans and Pops did not stay for the fun.

And then on October 29th for the first time, the Papa and I checked out the Tulsa Zoo's HallowZOOween event  with the grandchildren -- those who wanted to come.  All the Tulsa kids came except for Devin who had no interest.  Kayla's Mom Suzie wanted to come so us three adults trudged in the dark watching the kids have a ton of fun.  Elijah invited his friend Joshua in order to use that extra ticket.

Finally all have arrived and ready to go into the Zoo.

Hailey came from cheer leading practice.

Is this Cleopatra?

Art Class

Lily and Rosie are taking Art History in their Homeschooling Co-op classes.  But on Friday evening, they took a multi-medium art class at the Tulsa Art Center at 6800 S Memorial.  Their Mommie and I went with them.   Here is what happened in the 2 1/2 hour class.

We started with a canvas and newspaper.  The teacher said to tear up the newspaper and scrunch it up so that it makes some definition and layers on the canvas.  None of us had any idea what we were doing.
Then the teacher said to paint the background a color that we like.  Look at the colors Rosie and Lily chose--even though they still had no idea what their art was going to become.
Funny thing, they choose colors that also go along with what they were wearing.

Rosie's Modern Art or is this Abstract Art?
Mine turned out to be nothing.   I did not really like mine but I loved Rosie and Lily's art.
I will take a photo of April's for you.  They now have their work hanging on their wall at home.

Time With Sydney and Blakely August 23rd through 27th.

Loving Nigel
Sydney and Blakely's parents had to go toMichigan for a wedding.  Sydney is starting to school on Monday, so Papa and Nana went to Texas to watch the girls while their parents are out of town.

Loving Max
We took a lot of animal photos.  Max got to visit in Texas for him first time.  He loved the children and the dog and cat cousins.

Kevin jumps up on the kitchen sink to check things out.  I don't think he is suppose to do that but he does not care does he.

Max plays and plays and plays with his animal cousins.  He loves playing outdoors.

Sydney introduces Max to the swimming pool.  He is not too sure about this.

Kevin plays with the little bees in the flower garden.

After the swim, it is time for a snack.
Sydney finally get's her Sushi Rolls.
