Rosemary's First Surgery

Rosemary had her first surgery today.  Yesterday we drove to Oklahoma City and spent the first night at the Comfort Inn.  On surgery day Rosie has to rest and can not get wet so Rosie and her Mom had fun swimming, a little shopping across the highway and eating out. So we went to the Surgery Center at 6:00 this morning.  Lots of praying and God's hand guiding the doctor, and she had a successful surgery.  The doctor took out the old lens in her left eye and was able to implant an artificial lens inside the sac then inserted an acrylic brace to hold it in place.

On Monday afternoon after Rosie woke up a little bit, we went to the workout room.  She could only sit but we did a little exercise.  Then Rosie said she felt well enough to drive down the road to the Noodle Place where we had some pasta dinner.

On Tuesday morning we had breakfast at the hotel.  Rosie had a new outfit to go see the doctor in.

We got there too early and across the highway was Lake Hefner.  We decided to take a brisk walk.

It was a beautiful morning --the air was a bit cool.   burrrrrrrr.

Walking to keep warm.

The lake with lots of sea gulls.

Waiting in the doctor's office.

Doctors tend to have aquariums because it helps people relax.

Finally the doctor takes a look at Rosie's eyes.

He is very happy with the results.

Rosie still does not see very well this morning...the doctor says it will get better.

The bright light is uncomfortable.

Rosie is very brave and is happy that now she can go home.   However, she will be returning in two weeks for surgery on the other eye.

We are all done and ready to drive home.   We will be home by noon.

In two weeks, Rosie will return with her mother to have surgery on her right eye.  When all is healed, she will have new glasses and she will be able to see and enjoy her life.    God is Good ... God is Great!!!

October - Harvest- Hikes - Pumpkins and Costumes

Uncle Joel sent me photos of their family trip to the pumpkin patch.
Blakely picked out tiny pumpkins and Sydney picked out a 25 pound pumpkin.

There was a corn maze to search through.

And there as a train ride around the park.   Hey! where is the picture of the Mommy????  Aunt Jennifer??????

For Halloween, Blakely was a Bunny.

And Sydney was a Lion Tamer

Niegel was the LION!

What a fun time of the year.

So them our sweet Sommer sent me some photos of Ava and Carson.    Here they are on a hike in the mountains.  They look like they are having a ton of fun.
I think the hike is very steep and they are starting to get very warm from the work out.

And for the first year, the Colliers do not have a giant Halloween party at their house, they turn off the lights and go out for trick or treat in another community and then go out for dinner.   Boy, this had to be a nice change for their entire family.

Here he is, the great Clone Trooper.   Is he scary or what?  I think I see some little eyes peeking through.

And I know this must be an Oklahoma Cow Girl....especially because Ava was born in Oklahoma.

I wish I had pictures from all of my grandchildren.

I did hear that Devin, Kayla and Hailey went to the zoo Hallzooeen and that Elijah, Lily and Rosie went to Camp Dry Gulch to celebrate.    Pictures please!!!!
And more photos did come in.  Here is Rosie the cat.

And Lily was and I Touch or I Pad.

Elijah was a pumpkin head I think?

And Lily made a Jack-0-lantern.  Thanks so much for the pictures, I love them.
